Silat Citbitik Already Exists Since 17th Century

And now, the legendary martial art is still existed through Silat Citibitik Mayangkara Studio. The training is directly given to Choerudin who is the Chairman of the Silat Citbitik Mayangkara Studio with his colleague Marzuki and Abas as a great teacher.

Choerudin told, the studio has been made since 1988. This martial arts school uses the philosophy of piety, steadfast and tough.

"If the name of mayangkara itself meaning white monkey because the Citbitik martial art movements is similar to ape movements," he stated, when being met recently.

While paying attention to his students who are practicing, he revealed, he has been studying it since the second grade of junior high school.

"I often see my brother, Abas, who is currently a great teacher of practice, so I am interested and learn," he expressed.

There is no harm in learning it, he continued, as it can make the body more healthy can also direct children and young people to positive activities.

"If you are interested, just come to Pasar Minggu GOR, South Jakarta. Our schedule falls on Wednesday and Friday afternoon. It is open for children until adult," he continued.

He would continue to struggle to preserve the martial art of this ancestral heritage. In addition to Pasar Minggu GOR, he also teaches martial art in a number of schools.

"I hope the government will also pay attention to the continuity of the existing martial art studios and provide assistance," he hoped.
